i have been thinking about this for a really long time.why is it that all of us are named? why is it that all we can be represented by is a mere word? i mean, surely we mean so much more than that. of course, it is for identity purposes. but sometimes i just feel that when an acquaintance call us by our names, we feel so insignificant.(okay.i feel this way anyway.) the point is, why are we represented by names?by words that really don't mean anything and just contribute to our feeling small and non-existent? furthermore, it adds to no comfort knowing that even if we are existent or not, the world continues to spin. it makes me feel like...i dno...plants and animals? okay.i know we're all under the BIG classification of 'living things' but still. an elephant is an elephant, a zebra a zebra, a rose a rose. you don't get things like that elephant over there, by the watering hole, attempting to scratch its back.there, that one with the shorter-than-others trunk is called elle the elephant. and the other one there, the eyes very small (okay, actually they all got small eyes) but the smaller-than-others one..there that one..can see or not?ah.that one is called jane the elephant. and see, each of these elephants still have the elephant name behind their names... we don't get things like hi i'm jasmine the human being. at least we're better off. i mean we could be called homo sapiens too. but because we are the highest level of all 'living things' and for the sake of "all important documents" that we each have our own names. but still. names still seem to make me feel uncomfortable.the false impression that we are existant in this world but in actual fact we're just like all living things which this cold and unfeeling world no longer cares about. otherwise where comes about the phrase 'name-calling' with the negative connotation? on the flipside, to each and everyone who knows and cares about us, we are significant fortunately. and they value us. and that is probably how and what we should be thinking about. that at least there are people who cares.even if they are only a few. we can't all be liked by everyone in the world. (normal beings like us anyway.) and that is probably what we should be grateful for. really.a few people who truly cares is way better than a whole lot who pretends to. now. doesn't that make us feel so much better about ourselves? and a whole lot happier? |
